Source re: Billboard chart for "American"[edit]

The chart position has been added to the article's prose. @Ss112: Should a "Charts" section be added to note this collaboration and chart position? Asking you as a bit of a 'charts expert'. :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:00, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Draft[edit]

Resolved

@Armadillopteryx: Thanks for creating Draft:Kameron Michaels. Noting the chart position above, in case you wish to add. Consider moving the draft into main space? ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:09, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with that. I'm traveling without my computer for the weekend, but I can add that info and mainspace the article when I'm back. Armadillopteryxtalk 06:21, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Gay[edit]

Resolved

Ideally we'd have better sourcing, but is this and the fact that she sings these lyrics in "American" enough to say they're openly gay, and add categories like Category:Gay men? ---Another Believer (Talk) 06:06, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There's already a statement (with secondary source) about an ex-boyfriend of his in the Personal life section. I suppose that would be (borderline) sufficient to add Category:Gay men. I don't personally see a need to add a sentence just to state he's gay, but if you want to, the linked tweet is an acceptable source for that claim per WP:PRIMARYCARE. Armadillopteryxtalk 06:39, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I added mention of him being openly gay + Category:Gay entertainers. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:21, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Looking closer at that tweet, I see it was posted by a fan account (@KameronMDaily) and not Kameron herself (@KameronMichaels). I've replaced the citation with the episode where Kameron wrote and performed those lyrics. Armadillopteryxtalk 19:50, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, ok! Thanks, ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:10, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Gender Identification for Editor (PCock)[edit]

Hello Editor (PCock),

Wikipedia is a page for factual information not based on opinion, politics, or religious beliefs. Dane Young currently identifies himself as a female drag queen, but was originally born male as it states on both his birth certificate, and medical records. By changing this information in his primary "about" article, you are violating the Terms and Conditions of Wikipedia. You may identify him as "she, her, herself" in the show business sections of the remaining articles below. This will give additional information to "her" current life.

Thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheGrimProtocol (talkcontribs) 01:58, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

When referring to Dane Young out of drag, we use male pronouns. When referring to Kameron Michaels, the drag queen, we use feminine pronouns. Armadillopteryxtalk 03:38, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Discography[edit]

I suppose we should add "American" to a "featured artist" singles section like Alaska_Thunderfuck#As_featured_artist? Also, add mention of "Let It Snow". ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:56, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'll expand the table shortly. Armadillopteryxtalk 17:14, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't properly looked at all of these, and some are probably redundant/not RS/not encyclopedic, but here's an incomplete "to-sift-through list":

Assessment[edit]

I've upgraded to C-class. @Armadillopteryx: Thanks for expanding this article! I hope you have this one in your GA-possible stack. :p ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:46, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Another Believer: Thanks! It's been in the back of my mind, though I haven't kept up with the updating as much as I'd like. There's been a ton of coverage of her since I first wrote the article right after S10. I've been meaning to get around to combing through some of the more recent stuff, but I've been putting it off because it feels so daunting :-p I think it might be GA-worthy once it's fleshed out a bit; I've actually had a long interview of hers open in my tabs for weeks, meaning to pull out some stuff for the article x) Armadillopteryxtalk 17:47, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Armadillopteryx, Oh great! Thanks for the feedback, and I hope to see this updated a bit soon. I've nominated India Ferrah for GA status and have Gigi Goode and Crystal Methyd on my radar as well. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:50, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: I've finished going through the new sourcing and expanding the article. Do you have any suggestions before I nominate it for GA? Armadillopteryxtalk 10:08, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Armadillopteryx, I think the article looks great! I usually request a copy edit from the Guild of Copy Editors before GAN, but this is most certainly not required and just something I do for the extra pair of eyes. I say go for GA! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:11, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: Got it—thank you for your feedback (and for the motivation to finally update this page)! Armadillopteryxtalk 20:52, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible update?[edit]

---Another Believer (Talk) 02:23, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I added these both as inline citations. As far as I can tell, their encyclopedic content more or less overlaps with the third source that another editor added, so I didn't expand beyond that sentence. Most of the articles just seem to state that Young was absent from social media for 10 months, that he's back now, and that he's announced this has been due to ADHD. Feel free to expand further if you think we can glean something else from the sources! Armadillopteryx 18:56, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:04, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
