Angshuman - I tried to make it better. Thoughts on improvements? Aeh5a2 01:19, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources to establish notability, and the author has not provided any ... without them, this is just original research, which is prohibited by official policy.
See Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for more information on what is required to keep this article from being deleted. —68.239.79.97 (talk · contribs) 02:53, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
not being the author
I removed the tags because:
1/ BLP reads "Editors should remove any contentious material about living persons that is unsourced," BLP's ATT requirement only applies to contentious material--none is present here. 2/ Deans of law schools and similar distinguished academics are N, and have consistently been found so at AfD. The only appropriate tag here is "unsourced" DGG 01:40, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- I never questioned a PDF file from Harvard Law Review as a RS, but that only spoke to what he was doing as of 1984 ... I may have jumped the gun by tagging this version a little Too Soon after creation ... the PROD was an over-reaction to an unrelated matter (triggered because I hadn't seen any improvements to the article for almost a week) ... sorry for the momentary lapse in judgment ... blame it on Too Many hours at the keyboard at the wrong time of day. —68.239.79.82 (talk · contribs) 02:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thats why we need two people to do a deletion (smile). Many's the time that I've judged too quickly and I hope other people have caught them all. DGG
Recent updates
The article has been updated to reflect my citations. The tag can be removed. Aeh5a2 22:52, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- Uh, I'd still like to see some WP:Attribution that allows the removal of the Category:Date of birth missing and Category:Place of birth missing (living people) tags ... that's my litmus test forWP:BLP articles. —68.239.79.82 20:29, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
New thread by User:128.252.251.43
Also, you guys seem to know what is going on a lot better than I. If I make a change that I think is a good thing, and someone deletes it, do I have to follow their lead? Or can I reinstate the deletion? Can I reinstate the deletion with some modifications? Astuishin (talk · contribs) routinely deletes my additions or modifications. The most recent one was because wikipedia is not a link farm? I understand his concern, but his concern only necessitates deleting the links and not the substance of my addition (seeWashington University School of Law). Are, in the words of George Orwell's Animal Farm, all contributors equal - but some or more equal than others? Thoughts or comments appreciated. 128.252.251.43 15:23, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- Pardon my jumping in, but this seemed a little Off Topic {i.e., unrelated to the article on Kent D. Syverud), so I've made it a new section, and suggest that it be migrated to Some Other talk page. —68.239.79.82 20:29, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Georgetown University School of Foreign Service
The last edit to this article was a wikilink for Georgetown University School of Foreign Service ... I said to myself, "Self, why would Some Other Editor add a redlink to an article?" ... so I clicked it, and then I clicked "What links here" ... glad I didn't just summarily UNDO a contribution by an anonymous IPeditor while in vandal patrol mode. :-)
BTW, it's been a while since I really took a Close Look at WP:Biographies of Living Persons, but should the Very First external link embedded in the article be for a web page with the subject's email address and telephone number?
I was going to replace all of the embedded ELs in the article with:
<ref>{{cite web |url= |title= }}</ref>
... but now I think I'll just Move On.
Happy Editing! —68.239.79.82 (talk · contribs) 11:32, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
