Draft: 2024 Florence shooting

[edit]

I've been putting a lot of work into a draft about this attack and it has been declined twice. Is it possible I could implement a lot of what I wrote in the draft into this article? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:2024_Florence_shooting Raskuly (talk) 23:39, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If it is properly referenced information, sure. Macxcxz (talk) 15:35, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

[edit]

I agree with the decision to make this article but I don't think it's appropriate to put "birthday party" in the title. We should make the title 2024 Florence shooting which I think has been suggested or something like that. Plectiscus (talk) 23:10, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I chose that title as that is what most news article refer to the shooting as, which tends to be how article titles of this nature are decided. I’m not sure how it’s done really, but you could make one of those move requests where people agree/disagree. I neither oppose or support the proposed change, but I was just trying to follow naming conventions when I chose the title. Macxcxz (talk) 23:17, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here are a few different options, including the one presently in use.
2024 Florence, Kentucky birthday party shooting
2024 Florence shooting
2024 Florence, Kentucky shooting
2024 Kentucky birthday party shooting
Kentucky birthday party shooting
Florence birthday party shooting
Florence, Kentucky birthday party shooting
Florence, Kentucky shooting
I prefer the second. Raskuly (talk) 01:30, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Given that there has been two recommendations for 2024 Florence shooting I'll just move the page. I doubt anyone else will have an issue with the name change. Macxcxz (talk) 02:37, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer "Florence, Kentucky" due to disambiguating the placename, and the AP style guidelines. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:44, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
