I think it is worth to mention, that Busoni consider his "Ausgabe" of the "Klavierwerke" of Bach as "Beiträge zu einer Hochschule des Klavierspiels". There are a lot of studies spread over the volumes, espacilly in "Wohltemperiertes Klavier I" wich bear the sublines "bearbeitet und erläutert, mit daran anknüpfenden Beispielen und Anweisungen für das Studium der modernen Klavierspieltechnik". More detailed he explain his idea of the whole plan in his preface to Bach-Busoni Toccata C-Dur BWV 564.
