Should have this to you by tomorrow! JAGUAR  18:56, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Initial comments

[edit]
  • "the type of sailing ships Christopher Columbus sailed on his voyages to the New World" - would be good to link New World
Done.
  • "The restaurant was originally owned by Fred Decré and Robert Meyzen, with Roger Fessaguet as head chef" - this sentence in the opening of the History section is identical to the lead
Reworded.
  • Per MOS (headings), headings generally shouldn't repeat the title of the article - but I don't mind the "La Caravelle‍'s last night of business" section being kept how it is
Removed.
  • "Other frequent visitors included the Duke and Duchess of Windsor" - this is not Prince William and Catherine I take it!
Considering that they're Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ;-)...
  • Is there any other information on lunch preparation after Fessaguet retired in 1988? It would mean more content for the Lunch preparation at La Caravelle section
I don't think so, I don't want it to ramble on anyway.
  • "The customers on La Caravelle‍ 's last night of business were a mixture of regulars who had come for one last meal and to say good bye and those who had never visited it before and wanted to see a piece of New York history before it was no more" - too many "ands" in this sentence, also could read more encyclopaedic. How about The customers who arrived on La Caravelle‍'s last night of business were a mixture of regulars who had come for one last meal as well and to say good bye, as well as those who had never visited it before and wanted to see a piece of New York history before it was no more. I wasn't sure on how to change the "before it was no more" part, but it should be OK
Reworded.
  • "who was so fussy about food, the La Caravelle chef would cook" - La Caravelle needs to be italicised
Just did it before you said!

This article is generally well written and well researched. I could only find some minor prose issues before promoting this. I thought that one sentence from the Last night of business section sounded a little informal, but I suggested a rephrase so that should be fine. Sorry for the delay in reviewing this. @Jaguar: Mostly all done, thanks for the review!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:47, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that! I've checked through the article and it now meets the GA criteria. It is broad and very well researched as well as well-written. Well done JAGUAR  18:01, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats to all involved. Alakzi (talk) 20:50, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
