Talk:Legal status of Hawaii/Sock Puppet Discussion
Okay, one more: No Sock Puppets!
[edit]Laualoha:Jere, it's one thing to revert my edits just because you don't agree with them. That's bad enough. But to revert them without logging in, just to circumvent the three-revert rule? That's really kinda dirty, I gotta say. And I hope that you are not attempting to trap me into exceeding the limit myself. I will say it again. I do not want to play this way. But I simply can't allow myself to be shut down just because you don't agree with me, or because you think that as a minority I should have less of a voice. Sorry, but it's not pono. I am going to use the last of my 3 reverts now, because you leave me no choice. I ask you once again to edit fairly, with some basic ground rules. We've been communicating for a long time now; I think we can disagree respectfully. Don't you?

Telecat:Jere Krischel, today is Queen Lili'uokalani's birthday. I see that you've been cheating by logging in with different computers and reverting pages written by Laualoha. i belive that its just wrong.--Telecat 20:29, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Telecat:okay then. I will retract it. but i just have a friendly suggestion. Get a life. Mahalo!----Telecat 22:42, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Arjuna:I have been out the past few days so not keeping up. Are you sure this accusation is correct? I may or may not agree with all of L's additions (don't know, haven't looked; in any case, I'm trying to play a mediating "centerist" role here) but "dirty pool" is to me even worse. Can you provide evidence that sock puppetry in order to get around 3RR was involved? If so, I will revert those and back to L's versions just on principle. Thanks and aloha, Arjuna 21:17, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Jere:Nope, I'm not sock puppeting. I played Company of Heroes and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption during the edits in question. My IP address is a 75.x.x.x block. --JereKrischel 23:12, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Here's an example of my ip address --75.56.206.156 23:12, 2 September 2007 (UTC) (jere)
- 172.166.135.31 is actually in washington dc (see http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?GetLocation). In the future, please don't accuse people of sock puppetry without first doing some due diligence. It is a serious charge, and should not be thrown around lightly. --75.56.206.156 23:14, 2 September 2007 (UTC) (also jere)
Laualoha:If I was actually wrong about sock puppetry, I really apologize. If you had nothing at all to do with it, it's a terrible accusation and very unfair. However, it did look very odd -- Jere, you mass-reverted my edits twice within a very short time, and then suddenly, right afterward, the 3rd and 4th reverts came from an unknown IP with no message or summary. And no one had been participating except you and me for a very long time. You promise you had nothing to do with this? if you give your word you were not inolved at all and had no knowledge of it, I will accept it as the truth; if so, e kala mai ia'u. For the record, I was not intending to "report" anyone. Even if I get frustrated, this is not my style, and I think it's uncool.
Still, there is the problem of the reverts themselves. I worked very hard on those edits, and I think mass-reversion is wrong, and it makes me mad. I have never done this to you. However, I may now go back to the point that I was first reverted, with an attempt to include the mana'o of others since. I have re-done this by hand too many times already. I don't mind discussing your points of concern, but I do not have to convince you before editing, and I want to be very clear about this. Unless we can agree on some ground rules and principles, we need to cut the whole thing back to items not under dispute between us or this could go on way too long. Aloha, --Laualoha 19:00, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Jere:Laualoha, I assure you, I would never sock puppet - I am not afraid of standing up for my own edits, and do not shy away from conflict. Such passive-aggressive behavior is simply not in my makeup.
