Only two copy changes are really needed. The GAN caught an image issue I don't think you'd have picked up, as well. 7-day hold to Kyle Peake; this will likely take more like 7 minutes. Ping me when done. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 02:35, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
Copy changes
[edit]- Shortly before Nipsey Hussle's death, him and Mill had begun work on a collaborative album should be "he", not "him"
- 2009-2017 US President Barack Obama's letter for him maybe "former US president" instead?
Sourcing and spot checks
[edit]Earwig mostly catches quotes, such as the reviews and Roddy Ricch's comments.
Five sources of the 19 were selected for spot checks.
- 5 (Pitchfork): Used five times. This is a strange reference: aside from the review part, it does not say much alone, and it's often used in combination with others (the Stereogum reference actually picks up most of this). The review segments do check out. I do wonder if this is really needed elsewhere?
- 9 (Rap-Up):
Meek Mill and Roddy Ricch pen a tribute to Nipsey Hussle on “Letter to Nipsey,” where they reflect on the loss and legacy of the late great rapper
I note they only use "Devin", but I assume this is the magazine's founder Devin Lazerine. Is it possible to cite the last name as well? - 10:
Meek writes first, explaining that although he wasn't the closest with Nipsey
. The review segments also check out. - 13: Information on the following song by DJ Khaled at the Grammys performance.
- 15: "poignant one-liners"
Images
[edit]I have a concern with one of the images, which you understandably might not have caught. The cover art has an NFUR (encouragement: add alt text) and is fine. The mural is in Canada, which does not have freedom of panorama for "graphic works" such as murals. I have nominated it for deletion and suggest removal, as this will likely be deleted.
- Sammi Brie The Pitchfork ref is cited in cases where more than one citation is suitable for information, I have revised the prose and replaced the img with a gif if that is acceptable? --K. Peake 08:39, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- The new image presents no license issues, so we are good there. A bit weird to be a looping GIF, but it's not bad. Copy changes made. Will pass. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 08:44, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
