Using a rope as a lever

The last section "Using a rope as a lever" looks to be incorrect. Nothing in it, or the diagram, shows how mechanical advantage is obtained. As far as i can tell, the diagram only shows redirecting of force; the displacement of the rope horizontally is exactly equal to the displacment vertically, there is no way this reduces the force required. this section should be removed, or replaced with somethnig that works! 75.37.197.252 (talk) 05:20, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

It appears to me that the diagram showing the fulcrum in the middle has mislabeled the input and output. I believe it should be reversed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dold1dold (talkcontribs) 10:28, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Instead of

  • A lever is one of the six simple machines.

there should be

  • The lever is one of the six simple machines.

as it is not about one particular lever, but about the lever as such.

The use of Wheel and axle as an example of a first class lever is strange for me, as if you perate this from the side of the wheel which is opposit to P, it is still the same device, but this time acts like a second class lever. The other concern is that it is another member of the 6 simple machines.

I can not judge the correctness of the translation:

  • Give me a place to stand and with a lever I will move the whole world.

In the Theory of operation section there are these terminology definitions:

The point where you apply the force is called the effort. The effect of applying this force is called the load.

I have concerns if the "The effect of applying this force is called the load." sentence is proper. Or I might have misunderstood, please clarify!

Otherwise I aggree with the B class.
