Disputed listings[edit]

There is at least one entry that is definitely not a Buddhist. I'm going to go ahead and remove all entries that lack a citation. Feel free to add back any of these with citations. Dylan Thurston (talk) 15:56, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll also note some of the citations are very questionable. The article on Bill Gates, for instance, only says that he meditates sometimes; I don't think that makes him a Buddhist.
There were many entries that seem to have been included purely on the basis of Japanese ancestry. It looks like this might need to be brought to the BLP team.
I left the Zen teachers included, for obvious reasons. Dylan Thurston (talk) 16:08, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Escalating this, adding BLP dispute tag, since my edit was reverted. There are many people listed for which there is no evidence they are Buddhist, along with several that I know personally not to be Buddhist. (I know that Ken Ono, for instance, is not Buddhist, and as per the Responsibility for Providing Citations, the burden is on editors wishing to keep that information. But there are many other non-Buddhists listed here.)
