Motivation

[edit]

The motivation for this article was to keep the main MSX article shorter. It's not meant to be just another "list" article. Loudenvier 17:24, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article may need a cleanup though, it currently reads like a bunch of advertisements --Apathor 08:44, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was partly inspired by the List of Nintendo Entertainment System emulators, but it also helps to keep the main article less cluttered. And it has the additional advantage that now it's possible to add categories to the article.Mahjongg 10:44, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Apathor is correct! A nice cleanup will make this really encyclopedic, when it was inside the MSX article no one bothered because that article itself is greatly encyclopedic, but as its own, we will have to be more careful with this list. Mahjongg already gave us a nice hint: categories, we can keep the emulators in categories (Open source, commercial, official) and then we can discuss about MSX emulation itself, and who knows, we can even MOVE the article to MSX emulation and be more technical. Who knows? Loudenvier 14:56, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the List of Nintendo Entertainment System emulators itself gives a good example how to make this article more encyclopedic, (with tables etc.) thats why I mentioned it. Mahjongg 11:01, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Article has been rewritten inspired from that list. It contained a lot of non-NPOV text, that was removed. Please don't use the "Notes" section for that, like saying it's the best emulator, or bragging about features. Correct me if I've made any mistakes with the rewrite. It needs to be updated every once in a while with new emulator updates. --Apathor 17:51, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes its much better now, although it might benefit from a small NPOV introduction to what emulating an MSX means. Mahjongg 10:43, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
