Untitled[edit]

My drama camp is doing "Recess" for our show!

Sorting of Minor Characters[edit]

I alphabetized the minor characters by what the characters are normally called. So, Lawson sorts to L versus E for Erwin and The Diggers fall under D. Feel free to reorder these if something else makes more sense. I tried to follow the example of the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. - Dunc0029 (talk) 18:48, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

I went through and tried to wikify this article with some major copy editing. I wasn't sure if it needs further work before removing the cleanup tag. Can someone list any remaining issues so they can be cleaned up? - Dunc0029 (talk) 21:28, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Muriel P. Finster: Assistant Teacher, or Assistant Principal?[edit]

It says on Wikipedia that she is an "assistant teacher", and yet she has much more authority than a school assistant that I have seen. She is referred to as a "teacher" by the other characters several times. She even has a classroom and grades papers in the episode where she dates The Janitor. Of course assistant teachers have the authority to grade papers, but in another episode it is revealed that other teachers have lunch duty and detention duty. She apparently is in charge of assigning other faculty for lunch and detention even though we only see Mrs. Finster in Lunch Duty, Detention, and also Hall and of course Recess duties. In another episode she is in charge of an entire motorcade of school buses, giving instructions to the bus drivers, monitors, and teachers. She is also seen making administrative and disciplinary decisions with Principal Prickley. She also does many, many things without needing to ask for permission that an assistant would need to. I have never see Mrs. Finster having an office, but she is seen in her own classroom in an episode. There are probably several plot holes and continuity errors in this show, but I still think that there is more to support Mrs. Finster as being an assistant principal instead of teacher.

I am going to do more research to verify this. In-Correct (talk) 03:49, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did some research, and so far have not found any other websites. Only forums, review sites, and other Wiki sites. They are all referring to her as assistant teacher, teacher, assistant principal, and groundskeeper. So I simply took out her job title in the wikipedia article entirely. Grotke/Grotkey?[edit]

How exactly should Miss Grotke/Grotkey's name be spelled? I've always thought of it as Grotke, and indeed a Google search for both spellings gives 16,100 for Miss Grotke, and 6,950 for Miss Grotkey. Searching Grotke on its own gives 90,900 results, while Grotkey gives a measly 8,420 results by comparison. A result on both Recess and Disney wikia give Grotke, however the IMDB gives Grotkey. I understand neither of these are official sites, but does anyone know what the correct spelling is?magentafeelings (talk) 18:29, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic designations[edit]

In some recent edits from @Emanuelito martinez:, for example here I've noticed the addition of ethnic/nationality designations. Swiss-American, Indian-American, etc., although the article was already peppered with these assertions before he got here. Where are they coming from? How do we know that the Swiss kid was born in America of Swiss descent, and isn't actually from Switzerland and living here on a visa? Ashley T. is Hispanic/Armenian American? Does that mean she is either Hispanic or Armenian? At what point do we get into their geneology or review their citizenship papers that we can make these statements so confidently? I think the content should be cut, or directly referenced. And if we don't know that they are American citizens we should skirt that issue entirely and just describe them as "of Swiss descent", but again, only if sourced. Summarizing, I'm challenging these claims and per WP:BURDEN we need to see references that support them for them to be included. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:14, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
