This is meant to be the second part of a list covering the period from 15 February 1969 when the BMRB began compiling the UK Singles Chart, to 14 May 1988 when the last independently-compiled charts from NME and Melody Maker were published. Most currently listed references are placeholders, to be replaced as needed by more pertinent references; when put together, a look at the period should be created along the lines of the 1952-69 page. –Wbwn (talk) 06:00, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So the idea is to compare the different charts side by side? Looking at the list, I assume this article needs to be retitled to cover the period January 1983 to May 1988. Seeing as there were no BMRB or Top Pops charts during this period, it would just be a comparison of the official Gallup chart, the Melody Maker chart and the NME chart. It might have been helpful to create List of Melody Maker number-one singles first, along the lines of List of NME number-one singles. Richard3120 (talk) 17:27, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
