Marx Brothers

[edit]

I have removed the Marx Brothers films from the 16 films list. This was not a film series, simply a list of all the films the Marx Brothers were in. Robsinden (talk) 08:35, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Saint

[edit]

The original saint film series was a series of 9 films made for RKO. There appears to have been 2 x series of 2 since then (one series French, one series of theatrical re-edits from the Roger Moore TV show), plus various odd TV movies and a film made in 1997 with Val Kilmer. However, taken together these do not form a coherent series of 16 films. Have split to the 9, the 2 and the 2 and have left out the others. Robsinden (talk) 12:14, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Superman - how many films?

[edit]

As per Superman (film series) this is five. One to four, plus Superman Returns, and not including Supergirl (film). Agreed? Currently in the list for four AND the list for five. Robsinden (talk) 09:07, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Abbott and Costello meet... / Universal Horror

[edit]

The Abbott and Costello movies keep popping up in the lists of Wolf Man movies, etc. Do they actually belong to these series? Robsinden (talk) 09:16, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Film franchies

[edit]

Should a franchies cancel out a series I.e batman franchies has 9 but here is split — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.101.38.140 (talk) 13:20, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The film list would be more logical if they grouped everything together based on franchise instead of listing series separately based on continuity. It would make more sense if DC films and Marvel films were all collectively grouped together on List of feature film series with more than twenty entries instead of being scattered around on on *List of feature film series with 11 to 20 entries *List of feature film series with six entries for example. I could name more such as Tarzan etc. Many of these list are illogical and unworkable considering how they are currently set up. DoctorHver (talk) 11:20, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

feature film series

[edit]

Moved all articles and sub articles form list of film series to list of feature film series as the aim of these articles are clearly of fature films if it was going to include short subjects to the lists would end up as cluster .DoctorHver (talk) 13:56, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of List of feature film series with two entries

[edit]
Considering that the *List of feature film series with two entries, was deleted as I wasn't paying attention so I did not take any part in the Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_feature_film_series_with_two_entries deletion discussion but looking through arguments in the deletion discussion you could apply some of them to other feature film series lists as well such as List of Feature film series with three entries, four entries, five entries etc. As for the bigger franchise it doesn't make sense to scatter them around based on continuity the lists such as King Kong, Godzilla, DC, Marvel, Tarzan, Star Trek, Star Wars, Pink Panther (Inspector Clouseau) etc yet keep every James Bond film in one place when Craig's Bond is not in continuity with Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan. Its save to say that if the list with larger entries are not to be trusted as accurate there is no wonder that the article that used to be for two entries was even worse mess than those for the longer film series. Since it was deleted here is link to the archived version: https://web.archive.org/web/20211018152211/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_feature_film_series_with_two_entries, as you will see going through the list its convoluted mess, as you will see bunch of red links when it comes to various foreign films, or no links at all so its impossible to know if any of these films ever existed, sometimes you get results on google in other cases you will not find anything conclusive. Also going through this list you will see bunch of films that are part of something bigger, such as Batman, Fantastic Four, Zorro (we see total of six Zorro films listed in entry for two (makes no sense), wouldn't be better if all those Zorro films were included in the 20+ list if we consider all the films mentioned on the Zorro page for example) and Cheaper by the Dozen mentions total of four film the two original 1950s films and the two Steve Martian remakes from 2000s. Wouldn't make more sense if Cheaper by the Dozen were mentioned on List of feature film series with four entries? Yes it would since these are total of four films produced by the same studio. Same should apply to films based on same properties even if the rights were sold such as with various Marvel properties, or if rights were re-sold such as The Chronicles of Narnia, The only problematic era are films based on public domain work, I personally think if the films were produced by the same studio they should be grouped together if they were produced by two different studios then these film "series" should be listed as two separate entries on these lists.

Now if the article was going to be recreated some point It would major reworking of its content were none-notable entries should not be included as its hard to confirm if some of these films ever existed in first place they are mainly in red links some don't have any links at all, and films that are part of bigger franchise should not be included ether whether they are reboot of older films or if they were rebooted see the Zorro example above and inner continuity of films shouldn't be a factor. So we only have list film series with two entries or film with one known prequel or sequel such as The Mask, or Bad Moms, George of the Jungle, with that being said these reworking should actually also be done to the other List of feature film series with [x numbers] entries, as there plenty of film series on the article for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11-20 entries that are also part of larger film franchise, if inner continuity of these films are ignored which they should as scattering films around based on continuity rather than group them based on over all film franchise they belong makes these along with other List of feature film series with [x numbers] entries, list far less useful than they other wise would be. I know since I went through everything on these list few months back prior to the deletion of the article *List of feature film series with two entries. Thus I should know how pitful and useless majority of these info's are on each of List of feature film series with [x numbers] entries are unless you completely rework them into something useful so if anyone wants recreate that article fine with me but I must point out I did not create that article originally so I don't cere or mind ether way. We could even nominate the rest of List of feature film series with [x numbers] entries deletion and start over with List of theatrical Feature film franchises were we could list up every confirmed film franchise whether they only have two entries (example: The Mask, George of Jungle) or multiple films (example: Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Tarzan James Bond) .
