Saturday Night Live hosting count seems off

He also hosted Saturday Night Live four times in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

So was it five times, or one of the years is not right? Stansult (talk) 07:48, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

Changed to five. Certainly looks like five given that the prose throughout lists specific dates with sources for each of these years. — Bilorv (talk) 11:02, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
Louis C.K. hosted four times. He didn't host a show in 2013. 128.135.98.54 (talk) 06:45, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Hmm, how odd. I've taken this as an edit request and implemented it. The prose of the article mentions hosting dates in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017, but not 2013, so I don't know what I was thinking when I made the above comment. — Bilorv (talk) 21:44, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

Add back the categories American people of Mexican-Jewish descent and American writers of Mexican descent

Change his father's name to "Luis Székely" Watercakes54 (talk) 02:41, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

@Watercakes54:  Done as the given sources in the article, [1][2], spell the name as "Luis". In future, please make sure that it is clear what reliable sources your changes are based on, as everything in Wikipedia must be verifiable by an independent reader or editor. — Bilorv (talk) 12:07, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
Okay will do, thank you. Watercakes54 (talk) 12:30, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Change “writer” in lede to “screenwriter”

It seems more appropriate, given the absence of published works in his name, and how his material was delivered by others, as is done by screenwriting. I can’t even imagine him writing a book or a column. 2600:1012:B02D:24C2:B83B:6394:732E:2886 (talk) 18:42, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

Done seems unobjectionable to me, as this word is meant to convey how he has written for television and film, as described in the body of the article. — Bilorv (talk) 19:46, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

In the "Early Life" section, the article mentions that Louis C.K.'s paternal grandfather agreed to raise him Catholic, but I believe he actually agreed to raise Louis C.K.'s father, Luis, Catholic. I don't think Louis was raised by his grandparents. The sentence has a source. The source article talks about the grandfather raising his children Catholic, and I believe the original author of this part of the article just spelled Luis' name incorrectly. 98.97.84.180 (talk) 13:49, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

Done I have changed the sentence to read: C.K.'s Jewish paternal grandfather, Géza Székely Schweiger, had immigrated from Hungary to Mexico, and to appease his Mexican wife, they raised their children in the Catholic faith. I agree with your assessment of the source. — Bilorv (talk) 16:53, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Sexual misconduct revelations

There's a wee error in the following line: "After C.K. exposed himself to Goodman and Wolov, his manager, Dave Becky, made it known to theirs that they might suffer professional consequences if they continued talking about the incident." I'm assuming that should read them. 67.83.99.134 (talk) 02:43, 19 June 2022 (UTC)corpho

I checked out the source and it seems "theirs" is used to mean that Becky (C.K.'s manager) spoke to Goodman and Wolov's manager ("theirs"). I changed "theirs" to "their manager" in the hope of avoiding future similar confusion. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 03:53, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

New photo

We've been graced by a new photo thanks to a video uploaded by a podcast with CC licensing. I would be for changing the infobox picture to better reflect what C.K. currently looks like.

CaffeinAddict (talk) 01:44, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

I think this is a great idea and quick on the draw, thanks for snagging this! Perhaps the current infobox photo can be moved down to the section on his career at the time the photo was taken? Neighborhood Review (talk) 08:44, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, good find. I think this image is lower quality but since it's 10 years more recent than the current photo that probably takes precedence. I'd be in favour of moving the infobox photo down rather than getting rid of it, due to its quality: perhaps it could take the place of File:Louis CK explaining.jpg? — Bilorv (talk) 15:09, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Yes normally I'd choose quality but it's obvious his physical appearance has changed since 2012. CaffeinAddict (talk) 22:19, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Add a comma in the second sentence between the first and second list item.

Change this:

“C.K. won three Peabody Awards[6] three Grammy Awards, six Primetime Emmy Awards,[7]…”

To this “C.K. won three Peabody Awards,[6] three Grammy Awards, six Primetime Emmy Awards,[7]…” 75.172.50.100 (talk) 17:38, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
