• "Love on Top"'s musical composition, as well as Knowles' vocals and versatility, surprised critics." Surprise critics in a positive or negative way?

Background and development

• Make sure you mention that she played James in Cadillac Records before the quote, so there is background about it.

Composition

• Looks great! No complaints.

Critical reception

• "Genevieve Koski of The A.V. Club viewed "Love on Top" as an exception on the album" An exception to what? Or does she mean an exceptional song?
• "Matthew Perpetua of Rolling Stone named "Love on Top" a blast" Put "a blast" in quotes

Chart performance

• Very nice. Quite comprehensive!
