MCAT could also refer to the "Mathematics Common Assessment Task" in New Zealand

[edit]

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority administers several "Common Assessment Task", which are externally assessed exams, administered before the exam period has begun. One of these is the "Mathematics Common Assessment Task" shorted to MCAT, pronounced M-cat. Since the MCAT acronym is also used to refer to another test, the "Medical College Admission Test", it may be helpful to list this usage of MCAT to alert readers to its possible alternate meaning in the context of New Zealand high school tests.
