Windows painted on[edit]

I've removed "It has been reported that at the time of the launch, the bridge windows were painted on" as shipyard workers assure me this is misleading; it's normal for Ceremonial ship launching to do this for appearances, but because of the stresses of launching, cutting the windows is left to fitting out. As seen on 16 March 2021, it still doesn't look as though these windows have been cut, windows in the main superstructure have made progress. . . . dave souza, talk 21:42, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reliable source for the 'shipyard workers assure me this is misleading' ? It's relatively easy to find news sources claiming the windows were, in fact, painted on. https://www.sundaypost.com/fp/first-minister-launched-new-arran-ferry-at-ferguson-shipyard-with-painted-on-windows/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.147.230.245 (talkcontribs) 22:15, June 25, 2021 (UTC)
I don't think that Dave wanted to say that the windows were not painted on. The central question is: Is it normal for ships to be launched with painted-on windows (as indicated by Dave)? If this is normal, then there's no point in explicitly stating it. However, if painted-on windows are not normal, then the fact is probably relevant for the scandal. --19.12.18.230 (talk) 15:28, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
