[edit]Hi Wiki is great. Would the picture not be better if it had gridlines? Sorry I know it's being picky but it makes the grid easier to understand. Mr Bobla 19:59 25-April-2006 — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrBobla (talk • contribs) 18:58, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Interesting to consider the correspondence between this grid and the interpersonal matrix - originating with Harry Stack Sullivan and elaborated by others. Two axes in the latter model are dominance and affiliation, and the model has proven to be empirically robust in describing interactional patterns. Dominance must correspond conceptually to an extent with concern for production, while concern for people corresponds to some extent with affiliation. This would mean that the Blake-Mouton grid could perhaps be seen as a specific instance of a more general model of interpersonal interaction patterns.
