Pier
[edit]In 1825 Clovelly pier is washed away thus throwing the future of the village's thriving herring fishery into doubt. in 1826 Sir John Williams of Clovelly announces he is to rebuild the pier 'to the great joy of the inhabitants of that place.'[1]
