What is the correct redirect?

[edit]

I've redirected this article to marine ecosystem but this might be sub-ideal. At some point in the past it was to marine conservation, I think. Both don't fit great. Do we need to create a new (short) article for this? Like a list type article? Or redirect to another term? A quick google search gave me this result: "Marine resources are materials and attributes found in the ocean that are considered to have value. That value can be intrinsic, or monetary. They include a huge number of things: biological diversity, fish and seafood supplies, oil and gas, minerals, sand and gravel, renewable energy resources, tourism potential, and unique ecosystems like coral reefs." (here). Pinging User:ASRASR, User:Sadads and User:Epipelagic for opinions. EMsmile (talk) 10:48, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I searched for a bit but couldn't find an existing article that this one could be redirected to (also not in the German and French Wikipedia). So I've created a new one that I regard either as a stub or as a list type article. Comments welcome. EMsmile (talk) 21:55, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi User:Robert McClenon, I am a bit confused about what to do about this article. I thought it could become similar to the one on wastewater which started as a disambiguation page but is now a short list type article. Similarly to the one on climate action. I don't think a fully fledged article would be necessary but I do feel it's different to a mere dictionary definition. EMsmile (talk) 07:53, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi EMsmile. I had your Talk page on my watchlist so this came to my attention. I reversed Robert McClenon's exceptionally bad decision to draftify this article.[1] Anyone can move a draft back to article space, per WP:DRAFTOBJECT. Thanks for your work on this! Hi Clayoquot, thanks for this! Much appreciated. I've just added some "see also" links but I am not sure if this is OK like this or if some paragraphs on threats and protection would be in order - possibly by using excerpts from other articles. However, the threats are very different for the different kinds of marine resources so I am not sure what the best approach would be. Think of it as a list article that will always remain short or think of it as a stub article that will expand over time? EMsmile (talk) 12:34, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi User:Jturner20, do you have an opinion / can you help with this article? EMsmile (talk) 10:39, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi all, I agree that this should be its own page. It looks like a good start. I recommend looking at Natural resource and Water resources for ideas. Both of those are established pages with versions in other languages. Environmental resource management is also very nice. I will try and do some edit but it will not be for a few weeks. Thanks.
