- Hyphenated five times.
- The inner curb lane allows buses to stop for riders while the second bus only lane allows buses to pass each other along the corridor. Add a comma after "riders" and hyphenate "bus-only"
- Upon opening in 2009, capacity for buses in the corridor was tripled which allowed most express bus service in downtown Minneapolis to be consolidated onto the two streets. Add a comma after "tripled"
- Operating speeds increased in the corridor and some trips took 10 fewer minutes to travel out of downtown. Add a comma after "corridor". Why? See User:Sammi Brie/Commas in sentences (CinS)
History
[edit]- Marquette and Second Avenues Decapitalize "avenues" to be consistent with lead. There's also no need to link Minneapolis again this paragraph.
- To be consistent, I've removed all capitalized "Avenues" when the streets are mentioned as a pair
- "prefect" should be "perfect"
- Change uses of "2nd" to "Second" to be consistent
- I did this throughout the article. I'm a little conflicted as many refences use "2nd" but I understand the need to be consistent.
- "Interstate I-35W" should be just "Interstate 35W"
- Marquette Ave and 2nd Ave don't use road abbreviations. There are a couple of times this happens.
- There are no more "Ave" references in the text of the article.
- North-south bicycle traffic in Minneapolis began changing in the late 1990s when proposals to ban bicycles from Nicollet Mall emerged. Add comma after 1990s
- Ultimately bike lanes were installed on Marquette and 2nd Avenues in September 1998 and bicycles were banned from Nicollet Mall on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Add a comma after 1998 (CinS)

- The addition of the heated shelters on Marq2 in combination with A Line heated shelters was identified in 2018 as a source of potential disparate impact and disproportionate burden for low-income and minority riders in 2018. In 2018, I found a problem in 2018. Can you find it in 2018?

[edit]- On Marquette Avenue buses travel southbound while on Second Avenue buses travel northbound, with general traffic operating the other direction in the other lanes. Commas really help here, but really this is a poor-flow sentence. Buses travel southbound on Marquette Avenue and northbound on Second Avenue, with general traffic operating the opposite direction in the other lanes.

Sourcing and spot checks
[edit]- I notice much of the first History paragraph has several sentences in a row without citations. Are these all cited to Diers and Isaacs?
- Yes, I reread the two pages to make sure the information is supported. I duplicated the citation and tried to add them after dates/names/numbers so that it is a little more clear that the citation supports the almost the entire paragraph. -Eóin (talk) 02:13, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
