HST218 Comments

I would appreciate it if members of Fall 2011 HST218 US Women's History Salem State University would comment on my first wikipedia entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SSUProfessor (talkcontribs) 17:53, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

What an amazing woman. Janeweaving (talk) 22:19, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Interesting...wish there was more about her life out there. Vdrgnfly (talk) 16:56, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

For such limited information on her, your entry was put together nicely and you were able to add a picture, pretty impressed. Good Job for your first entry ! (Lee.castro (talk) 22:48, 14 December 2011 (UTC))

I fixed some of the formatting so the paragraphs that had been intended to be separated now are. This article could use some more links to other articles and the source list still needs to be added to. I would love to see what sorts of sources you had a she is a very interesting woman. --Writeraeria (talk) 05:58, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Done Glad to see the class involvement! No tasks left to do in this section. Verbistheword (talk) 17:47, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Factual Errors Throughout This Entry

This entry is full of errors or unsubstantiated claims. If anyone cares enough to clean it up, you can consult http://www.encyclopediavirginia.org/Bowser_Mary_Richards_fl_1846-1867 the most up-to-date, accurate account of Mary Richards Bowser's life. If you would like to do original research on the topic, see the suggestions here: http://blog.encyclopediavirginia.org/2014/02/27/guest-post-help-unearth-the-secrets-of-mary-richards-bowser-2/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.115.131.51 (talk) 00:23, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing out these resources! The section "false or unsubstantiated claims" in the first has been used to do an initial tidying the article, as of this edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mary_Bowser&oldid=728350485
Edits based on the blog post are also most welcome. —Verbistheword (talk) 20:32, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
Done I believe that information from the blog post is now reflected in this article. Double checking certainly welcome. —Verbistheword (talk) 18:41, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Note about African American National Biography entry

Idea: Yikes. The African American National Biography entry for Mary Bowser feels very similar, in places at least, to this Wikipedia article at this version or earlier. [1]

For now, I'm going to remove the source from the resources, and focus on using other resources. It may eventually be worthwhile to look into how the similarities came to be, and to get in touch with the editors of the reference.
