Since when the term 'mash' meaning to push (as in a button) limited to American South dialect? I've lived in the Northern U.S. my entire life and I've heard it used plenty. Esc861 (talk) 19:21, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wiktionary states that the meaning "press down hard (on)" is of more general use, while "press" (as a button) is Southern US. Pingku (talk) 16:42, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The acronym MASH is also used for the AASHTO Manual for Assessing [highway] Safety Hardware. (AASHTO is the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.)
