This was not written as a promotional piece. I have no personal relationship and haven't been paid. He appeared on a panel of film makers at NYU and had a very interesting story. We were asked to do research in to a particular member of the panel that we found interesting.

And also I just spent several hours doing more research and its kind of annoying to have this immediately flagged without a discussion about what motivated me to put information up about people alternative paths into create fields during coronavirus. Maybe it wasn't the best written thing in the world but it certainly is worth being up and having some ability for people to make it better. And I found about 30 other articles or podcasts or news stories on the guy. I thought I had done a pretty good job.

User:Archsurfing, one of biggest issues is that you twice "hijacked" an existing article/page and replaced it with your article, rather than using the Articles for Creation process where the article would have been reviewed and made live at the appropriate title when ready. A reviewer would have given any feedback necessary. If you try to put an article directly into mainspace, it can be deleted by several processes if it does not meet standards. I didnt know that process really so at least that ads some light, I thought that was not an active article page so I thought thats how you would add. I was trying to just upload some basic information and saw it got reversed so I took the time to add a bunch more info thinking that was the main issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Archsurfing (talkcontribs) 02:39, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Archsurfing: You say you have no personal involvement with the guy, after having uploaded a photo of him that says you personally shot it while accompanying him on a film scouting trip. You say that it’s not here for promotion, having written it in a mostly promotional flowery advertising and unencyclopedic tone. Furthermore, everything you just said is according to your own personal criteria that you just made up as you went along, regarding what is worthwhile to readership and what is a reliable source, with nothing to do with Wikipedia standards in WP:N and WP:RS. — Smuckola(talk) 07:36, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Im actually very confused. I have looked at many other public profiles and it seems like they use similar types of sources, magazine publications, nytimes, nypost, CBS News, and some regional magazines seem like appropriate uses. He is on IMDB and won three national film awards. I am not exactly sure but it is frustrating that I wasted time on doing that only to have it deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Archsurfing (talkcontribs) 17:14, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
