Deletion of arrest info

Information about a McGruff actor who was later sentenced to 16 years in prison was deleted from the article; https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=McGruff_the_Crime_Dog&diff=594560671&oldid=594455590 The person who deleted it argued that just because he played McGruff doesn't mean he has a connection to McGruff, so this doesn't belong in the article. What do other editors think? Ghostofnemo (talk) 01:50, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

I think there is nothing to be gained by adding such information. There are thousands of people who dress as mascots and many have been found guilty of crimes, if we add all that to each article then the article will be a huge pile of clutter.
The only exception is when the crime was done while "on the job".

I think this is an important detail, I'm mean it's not just any mascot, it's the anti-crime that has been caught growing weed ! People will talk about this for a long time whenever this mascot is brought up in a conversation. It is a bit of trivia I was really expecting to find and it is the reason why I looked up this article in the first place. In fact I think it is very likely most traffic to this page these days is related to that arrest. 216.246.230.142 (talk) 21:40, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

the person who deleted it was clearly acting on his own initiative and not because of a community consensus. restore the info and ban the jackass who deleted it. 99.4.184.9 (talk) 00:23, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
