Multiple spellings / meanings(?) of this word[edit]

I am not a subject matter expert but I noticed today that there are 3 (6 if we include plurals) common spellings of the word Memoir / Mémoire / Memoire (and probably a few common mispellings) as used in the English Wikipedia. Currently (2008 December) 4 of these 6 words/spellings have unique wikipedia articles associated with them. Of the other 2 spellings, one redirects to the disambiguation page and one to the singular form of the word.

I am never quite sure of the correct spelling of this / these words myself, nor am I very familiar with the distinction there appears to be between the literary use and different meanings of (English) "Memoir(s)" and (French) "Mémoire(s)" (and I presume I am not the only one with this problem). So today, I added one of the above-mentioned redirects and added a, "...for other uses, see Memoir (disambiguation)..." note to the top of a couple of those pages. I think this will help - although someone (more knowledgeable and more ambitious than I) might want to consider "MOVE"ing some / all of the 4 pages and redirecting some / all of the possible 'legal' spellings to the existing disambiguation page? Just a thought. For example, I'm not sure the Japanese goth rock album Memoire is what most wikipedia users would expect to see first when they search for "Memoire".
