This Page[edit]

I feel that this page is totally confuses me and anyone wanting to know the real area named Halifax Nova Scotia . The place Halifax is the page Halifax, Nova Scotia is does include Dartmouth, Nova Scotia nor Bedford, Nova Scotia . Halifax, Nova Scotia is a totally different community from Dartmouth or the other 205 communities that make up the Haliafx Regioanl Municipality . Stats Can does not determine place names in Nova Scotia or any other the provinces , its up the province . The article does not relate to real life at all. This is not Halifax , Nova Scotia.19960401 00:59, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No one is saying this is Halifax. Its about the urban area of Halifax Regional Municipality. WayeMason 01:27, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There no such community listed in the Canada Poat Postal Code lookup as "Halifax Urban Area" its either Halifax,Dartmouth, Nova Scotia|Dartmouth or Bedford, Nova Scotia . The place Halifax Urban Area does not exist anywhere on the Nova Scotia Government Website so why are we breaking from reality and creating this make- believe area that does not exist as a place . This article is nothing more to discredit Lonewolf in what he corrected two mouths ago . This is more confusing . Halifax Nova Scotia is Halifax, Nova Scotia and what do you like for Halifax to be another Troonto, Ontario . Halifax is Halifax , Dartmoth is Dartmouth Nothing changed on April 1 ,1996 just the municipal government --Nothing else - Halifax Regional Council will have thye biggest laugh reading this one . They all that Halifax and Dartmoth are two separarte communities . This a joke . 19960401 01:53, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

this article is about the greater Halifax area, metro Halifax, it is about the URBAN AREA not about a postal community or former city. Are you saying there is no urban area in HRM? There is a clear definition of urban area on wikipedia, there are footnotable sources [1], [2], [3] and [4] to name just four. I am not in any way saying there is a community called "Halifax Urban Area" I am saying there is a thing called that requires an article about the "Halifax urban area". Wikipedia has articles about things that are not places. WayeMason 02:28, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wayne explain The first source came up "Error Occurred While Processing Request . The second and third

"We cannot find the page you are looking for".The fourth _well the fourth says " The webpage cannot be found"19960401 23:44, 8 May 2007 (UTC) Also in the list of communities you give me Halifax was listed ,thats Halifax, Nova Scotia.00:50, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[5], [6], [7] and [8] There, sorry, fubared the syntax. Besides, I agree with you, there are 188 communities in HRM, but there is also an urban area in HRM that includes a number of those communities. Please review the City of Halifax article to review the fact that there still is an article on Halifax.WayeMason 01:22, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a defined "HRM Core"; see page 10 of [9]. --NE2 11:52, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The HRM defines the core differently depending on which department is defining it. Core sometimes refers to the peninsula, sometimes it refers to the peninsula and darmouth inside the circ. God love HRM. WayeMason 00:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the page to Metropolitan Halifax on the grounds that this is what people call it. :) InDaFax (talk) 22:25, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But that's backward - a "metro" area is BIGGER than the core municipality - it includes the core plus commuter areas... Redirecting Urban Area to Metro is very confusing...AshleyMorton (talk) 01:28, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page merged[edit]

I have merged the contents of this page into Halifax, Nova Scotia. Much of the content was identical hence the difference in bytes transferred to the receiving page. Citobun (talk) 14:19, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
