Lead

[edit]
  • Does he have a middle name?  Done
  • Please add a paragraph about his major junior career and another for his pro career. The lead is too short for an article of this length.  Done
  • I do not see how reference #3 proves that he fought more than any other professional hockey player in the world that year. It only shows AHL fights but there are professional leagues all over the world.  Done (moved references around, ones there now more accurately support the claim)

Early life

[edit]
  • Please add his birthday and include a source (I typically use Elite Prospects). Done
  • Do we know anything about his mother? What about siblings? Done

Playing career

[edit]
  • Can you add some content about his midget/junior career?  Done
  • If possible, I recommend using Newspaper Archive or other websites to find out this information. If you do not have access to them, or are unable to gain access through the Wikipedia Library, I can assist you.  Done
  • Please expand on his seasons with the Silvertips. For someone who played two seasons with a team, the paragraph should be much larger. If possible, dedicate one paragraph to 2003-04 and another to 2004-05.  Done

Professional

[edit]
  • This section needs a lot more content added to it.  Done (At least, as well as possible, see next point explanation for why.)
  • His rookie season should not just be one sentence.  Done(ish) (Newspaper searches turn up nothing of note, local coverage of hockey in Lowell, Massachusetts is spartan at best, and his local hometown paper or anything in Everett wouldn't exactly publish unflattering news. He was an undrafted fringe player his entire professional career. Not exactly any fanfare to be found, mostly because he really didn't accomplish anything of note in most of these cities.)
  • This sentence needs a source Love struggled to transition his scoring ability to the AHL, only managing four assists during his rookie season.  Done (reworded to be less contentious, added reference)
  • This sentence needs a source Ultimately, Love would again spend the entire season in the minors, spending most of his time with the Monsters, but also playing a handful of games with the Avalanche's second tier minor league affiliate: the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL..  Done

This is a quick once over to get you started. Please add  Done after you've completed each comment (or explain why it wouldn't be feasible) so I can keep track of all the changes.

Con't

[edit]
  • I slightly fixed a reference [1] here because it required readers to sign into the Wikimedia Library before viewing it. Thanks
  • I really like the addition of the graph for his PIM. I think that's a unique addition I haven't seen elsewhere. Thanks
  • Please Wikilink strength and conditioning coach  Done
  • There is a needless piped link for the 2010–11 AHL season and 2007-08 season. I do not see why it is necessary to have - vs. –. Likewise, not all seasons are like that (such as the 2005-06 season). Could this be fixed?  Done (all seasons now have – instead of -, missing seasons pipelinked, duplicates removed. The reason for the multiple 07-08 season links (I assume you're looking at the table) is one for the AHL and one for the ECHL.)
  • The references are kind of messy. For example, reference #30 does not have the date (October 11, 2005) but has an access date. However, many of the references in the article do not have access dates.  Done (references cleaned up, archived references now properly formatted, dates added where possible. Anything that now has a retrieved date is any reference that is itself not dated (eg. ref 1) and/or has been retrieved from an archive)

"A lot more content"

[edit]

In regards to This section needs a lot more content added to it.: unfortunately, this isn't an NHL player, this isn't even the most talented guy on any team he's ever played for. This is a guy who would have struggled to pass GNG if he had never become a coach. The reality is, 90% of this guys accomplishments as a player for each individual team can and should only be described in a few sentences. Even as it is, you're probably looking at more than enough to meet GA Criterion #3a. Much more expansion just for expansions sake and you're just going to start violating criteria 3b. We aren't going for FA here, there's realistically not enough WP:VERIFIABLE info to ever get to FA. There's a reason criterion 3a specifically states that we're not looking for FA levels of depth. Hi IceBergYYC. So sorry for the delay. I saw your notes and agree with the sentiments. I will look over this in more detail tomorrow. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:21, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
IceBergYYC, once the above is addressed (in one way or another), I think I can pass this . HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 00:04, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All done HickoryOughtShirt?4. Thanks for the help and guidance. Article is definitely better now than when we started. Cheers, IceBergYYC (talk) 01:57, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
