Images
- Images are CC and relevant.
Copyvio check
- No issues found from reviewing matches found using Earwig's Copyvio detector; matches are attribute quotes and phrases like "on behalf of Khalil Abdul-Rahman Hazzard, Sam Barsh, Dan Seeff, and Josh Mease in" which are OK per WP:LIMITED
- No issues found during spot checks.
Sources
- All seem appropriate.
Background and recording
- Spot check on "Kid Cudi recorded for fellow Donda track "Remote Control", though his contributions were removed from the final version" - no issues
- "fellow Donda track" - fellow sounds a little odd to me, but the meaning is clear so should be fine.
- Spot check on "The rapper tweeted that the final version was new to him since he had not heard it before the event and clarifying that although he knew of his presence on the album, he did not "hear final mixes"" - no issues
- "Lil Yachty...revealed that he was behind Kid Cudi being included on "Moon". Per MOS:SAID, consider a different word instead of "revealed"
- "The rapper said his initial recording was completely different from the final version" - maybe specify which rapper?
- Spot check on "The rapper said his initial recording was completely different from the final version" - no other issues
Composition and lyrics
- Spot check on "Musically, "Moon" is a tender ballad." - no issues
- "Toliver also delivers crooning" - maybe just "Toliver also croons"?
- Spot check on "He also performs a falsetto, singing "Here we go, strap in, we up/Never forget all the memories"." - seems to be true but I'm not sure the cited source 100% supports "He.. performs..."
- Comment: the source says about him delivering a falsetto and then lists those exact lyrics --K. Peake 08:36, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
Release and reception
- Spot check on "the "tender, spiritual interlude" relies on "the potent combination of Cudi's signature soothing vocals" with Toliver's crooning." - supported by source.
- Optional: the way the text in the point above is quoted seems slightly odd to me because the "potent combination" refers to both but only one description is quoted. How about: "the potent combination of Cudi's signature soothing vocals" and Toliver’s "high-pitched crooning" ?
- Spot check on "David Aaron Brake from HipHopDX said that the song is among the album's highlights, yet these are held back by its "hefty but mostly tepid 27-song tracklist" - supported by source
- "Optional: "yet these are held back" - maybe something like "but felt that even the best tracks on the album are diminished by" ?
- Feels like Lawsuit should be its own section rather than a subsection under Release and reception, but I'm not sure if there is precedent for keeping it how it is.
- Done for the above --K. Peake 08:36, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Spot check on "On July 17, 2024, Artist Revenue Advocates (ARA) filed a lawsuit against West on behalf of Khalil Abdul-Rahman Hazzard, Sam Barsh, Dan Seeff, and Josh Mease in a Los Angeles Court for copyright infringement." - no issues.
- Spot check on "The lawsuit identified its defendants as West, Universal Music Group, GOOD Music, and Yeezy LLC, among others, requesting for a court decision over copyright infringement, damages, an award of costs, and any further relief" - no issues
- Do I take it you don't think that Yeezy (brand) is a suitable wikilink for Yeezy LLC?
- Done nice catch, I just never thought of that! --K. Peake 08:36, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
Commercial performance
- Spot check on "Upon the release of Donda, "Moon" debuted at number 17 on the US Billboard Hot 100." - no issues
Credits and personnel
- Spot-checked. Looks fine.
Charts / Certifications
- Looks fine.
Infobox and Lead
- Optional: instead of "Alongside the vocalists, all the producers wrote the song.", maybe something like "The song was co-written by all of the vocalists and producers." or "All of the vocalists and producers wrote the song together."?
- Doesn't look like the duration of 2:36 is sourced, but perhaps it doesn't need to be?
- BennyOnTheLoose nope, it is common for lengths to not be sourced in song articles. I have implemented everything now, looking forward to seeing what you think! --K. Peake 08:36, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
