I think the person who wrote this article never actually read the book. Heres a simple review and as you can see, it varies greatly from whats written here. Reading this you'd think humanity simply went extinct.

Having read this book and seen that film, I'm not sure Apollo 18 (film) is a particularly relevant link. They both include the alternate history premise that the Apollo 18 mission went ahead as planned, but that's the only thing they have in common. And, in both cases, the Apollo mission serves as little more than a MacGuffin to set events in motion. The movie is a claustrophobic found-footage horror about aliens on the Moon, whereas Moonseed is about a catastrophic global event that ultimately destroys Earth. If there are to be links to other fiction in this section, I believe Apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction movies or novels would be more appropriate. Additionally, I have added a few links to this section based on some of the more prevalent themes in the book;
