What's wrong with this article

[edit]

Some tips, to the user writing this article, to make it less of an advertisement and more of an encyclopedia article:

  • Don't use too many weasel words. Especially don't base entire paragraphs on them.
  • If you have claims like "has created a cult-like following", "Moosejaw offers its customers free Gift Messaging", and "Moosejaw.com is a top 50 online retailer" (to give examples), they need to be backed by reliable sources.
  • Original research is writing that does not come from sourced information, and it is not permitted on Wikipedia.
  • Everything needs to be verifiable, and the onus for that is on the person who adds the information.

When I skimmed the article, I did debate whether or not it's {{db-web}} or {{db-ad}}. However, I will admit that I missed the first part about it being on the top 50 list of online outdoor retailers. However, that still does not solve the problem that the article reads like an advertisement (and might still qualify under {{db-ad}}. I will remove the {{db-web}} due to my mistake of missing that sentence, but I'm putting up another template. Also, do reference where the company/site was listed in the top 50 and as #57. --Wirbelwindヴィルヴェルヴィント (talk) 04:59, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And what's with Nonsensical Marketing? Sounds almost like original research there. --Wirbelwindヴィルヴェルヴィント (talk) 05:02, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

companies based in utah?

[edit]

Why is this company categorised as a 'company based in utah'? Is that an artefact from the copy-paste from backcountry.com or something else? Moosejaw is based in Michigan, if I recall correctly. The only reason this has come to my attention is the recent spat about external links on the backcountry.com article. Davejenk1ns 19:15, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. Wirbelwind would be transposed as 'waburuwindo', not 'wairuberuwinto'. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. (gomen, ima nihongo no keybo-do ga nai kedo)' Davejenk1ns 19:15, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Only Moose Jaw I know is the one I live 40 minutes from in Saskatchewan. BigNate37(T) 19:32, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
