Hauptkriminalkommisar Stoffmacher: Captain of Homicide, Lohr Polizei. The Captain's name is actually a linguative pun: the proper English translation of Hauptkriminalkommisar is Main forensics commissioner. Stoffmacher translates as German for material maker or fabric maker, and is a thinly veiled version of Stottlemeyer's name.

Kommissar Geshir: Stoffmacher's right-hand man. Geshir roughly translates as being plural for plates or dishes, effectively making it a German translation of Randy's last name.

First: "Geshir" is the misspelled German noun "Geschirr", however this translation to "dishes/plates" is correct. Geschirr would also include cups, knives, forks, spoons etc. Secondly, there is no "Hauptkriminalkommisar" in Germany, only a Kriminalhauptkommissar which basically is a poice rank roughly equivalent to a Lieutenant or Detective and has nothing to do with forensic work. --Tallyho (talk) 13:17, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
