Hello Gustavo. I am currently watching the livestream for the final Coimbra show, and before the second suprise song, Chris Martin just said that this was the first ever stadium show run fully on batteries. This probably has some significance and I want to tell you so you can look out for something like this on the internet. Cherrell410 (talk) 22:11, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

If that's the case I'm sure there will be news on it soon. Let's just wait for now. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 22:15, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
Alrighty, just letting you know so you can watch out for it. Cherrell410 (talk) 22:16, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

Tokyo Dome

Could anyone add Tokyo Dome 6th and 7th November to the tour dates please? 240B:C010:471:D0CC:ED3C:E5D3:D206:C4F0 (talk) 03:02, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Good Article

@GustavoCza this article meets the qualifications to earn a good article nomination, and I would like to nominate it for that, but I need consent of a significant contributor to the article. You've written pretty much everything here, so I am asking if you would mind if I nominated this article for GA status. Cherrell410 (talk) 01:35, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

Feel free to make the submission. I just hope I don't get asked to change the texts too much, I have the List of Coldplay live performances featured nomination to handle soon enough hahahah. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 01:40, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
Alright, keep up the great work on the article btw! Cherrell410 (talk) 01:42, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 02:17, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
@Cherrell410: will you make changes to the review, or will Gustavo do it? — VAUGHAN J. (TALK) 21:53, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
Most likely either or, depending on how severe the changes need to be. Cherrell410 (talk) 21:54, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

Final comments and verdict

  •  On hold until all of these issues are fixed; only just some minor changes, but good job on the article! — VAUGHAN J. (TALK) 08:45, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
Hello! I apologize for the grammar mistakes. I'm from Brazil, so English is not my first language! There were only two things from your notes that I haven't corrected yet: The wristband replacement (on it right now) and Music of the Spheres' release year. The tour was announced a day before the album came out, so I felt like it would look redundant. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 11:41, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
Wristband switch corrected! Considering what I said in my first comment, is the album release year really necessary? GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 12:02, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
For the release year on the album, as you said, it depends on whether the tour was announced before the album came out the same year, so I'm actually gonna cross that out. — VAUGHAN J. (TALK) 12:40, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
By the way, I've also checked the remaining issues that have been done. — VAUGHAN J. (TALK) 12:40, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
Pass now; good job on making changes on the article! No issues are left! — VAUGHAN J. (TALK) 13:45, 21 June 2023 (UTC)

Overly detailed

Although this is a good article that contains a lot of important information about this successful tour, a lot of the information here (such as all of the notes under the set list, the list of personnel, and list of records broken) may be considered overly detailed according to Wikipedia's inclusion policy. For more information visit Wikipedia:Too much detail. I'd love to discuss this further. 1986londonvelv (talk) 21:05, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

The list of records broken is extensive because well... They broke that many records. I do agree the set list notes are very extensive, but we can't just delete all of it, what are your suggestions? GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 21:08, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
Some records seem to be of more significance than others. For example, having the fastest ticket sales ever in Spain is an important record to note, while being the first act in history to schedule two shows on a single tour at Snapdragon Stadium seems significantly less important. As for the set list notes and cover guests, I am not sure as to any specific alternatives I'd have to that other than deleting them all. Maybe taking a look at similar good Wikipedia concert tour articles might help. 1986londonvelv (talk) 21:17, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
Both achievements are notable, I would say the difference lies in how impressive one is compared to another. To make the table simpler, however, I removed some lines that could be adapted (ex. "First act in history to schedule three, four, five and six shows on a single tour" instead of multiple lines for each quantity) and removed the prose from the attendance records. This should be enough. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 21:30, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
Just merged the "Covers and guests" and "Special songs" notes, then made a few removals and/or simplifications. By the way, I just remembered that you mentioned the personnel list: I wrote it as it was on the tour book and I will not change it in any shape or form, all these people worked hard and helped to put the show together, they deserve recognition, that's why Coldplay has an end credits rolling at the end of all concerts. Infobox Gross & Attendance

@GustavoCza I noticed that the numbers in the infobox for gross revenue box and attendance don't match everything else. Also be on the lookout because I heard next thursday that they are announcing Europe 3. Cherrell410(t · c) 20:07, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Billboard updated the list of the 10 highest-grossing tours of all time and included these numbers for Music of the Spheres, I didn't updated the tour table because the individual boxscores have not been made public yet. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 20:14, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Live in "Manila"

Should a note stating the Philippine venue given that it was marketed as being held in Manila, when in actuality the venue (the Philippine Arena) is in a city (Bocaue) outside the metropolis? Hariboneagle927 (talk) 00:16, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

I agree that this should be done, along with other cities with a similar case. This is to maintain consistency with other good-quality concert tour pages. signed, Pat talk 04:48, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

Barcelona Shows weren’t sell out

Look at number #16 https://data.pollstar.com/Chart/2024/01/121123_ye.top300.concert.grosses_digital_1040.pdf According to Pollstar, the Barcelona show is not completely sold out. The capacity for each show is 57,190, which implies that the total number of tickets sold is 224,761 out of 228,760 (98%) Newpicarchive (talk) 14:19, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Coldplay's tour history, which is also provided by Pollstar, says that the shows were completely sold out: https://web.archive.org/web/20230908225449/https://pdfhost.io/v/0qRXxIUak_Coldplay_Pollstar_Tour_History_200123. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 14:22, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
is that a fan-made “file”??? Newpicarchive (talk) 14:26, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
It's not fan made, I bought their tour history last year. Pollstar allows the buyer to download it as a PDF or Excel file, so I uploaded the PDF in a host to use it as a source, since most of their old boxscores are difficult to find. If you don't believe me, here's a screenshot from today: https://ibb.co/jrMBfkF. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 14:32, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
I would trust the more recent source, which is Pollstar's end of year report, rather than a mid-year one from July. More info may have come in at a later date that resulted in corrections being made. Y2Kcrazyjoker4 (talkcontributions) 14:31, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
They broke the all-time attendance record on this venue. It sounds very unlikely to not be sold out: https://archive.ph/20230601121356/https://www.iq-mag.net/2023/05/coldplay-set-spanish-stadium-record/ GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 14:35, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
That publication has nothing to do with touring industry (Billboard Boxscore or Pollstar), The attendance numbers cited in the article are not exact, as indicated by both the mid-Pollstar report and the Pollstar year-end report. They are rough estimates as every publication does. Newpicarchive (talk) 15:10, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Agree, “More info may have come in at a later date that resulted in corrections being made” For example Renaissance World Tour entire European shows revenue undergoes a complete overhaul on revenue. First boxscore report https://x.com/touringdata/status/1674466589108830209 and Finale boxscore report https://x.com/touringdata/status/1712951401364517244 Newpicarchive (talk) 15:01, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Renaissance had its numbers revised due to exchange rates, the attendance remained the same. Coldplay's Barcelona shows were reported to be sold out by Live Nation Spain, which are the people who report to Pollstar in the first place (https://news.pollstar.com/2023/06/05/ticket-sales-and-demand-have-never-been-stronger-qs-with-the-team-of-live-nation-spain). Aside from breaking the attendance record, the band also had thousands of people outside the stadium because they could not get tickets (https://www.lavanguardia.com/cultura/20230529/9001167/fiesta-masiva-coldplay.html). Out of 132 shows, four were not sold out? In the city where they had the fastest sales ever (https://www.expansion.com/directivos/estilo-vida/2022/08/22/6303c8f1468aeb975d8b4629.html), and the venue confirmed the shows were sold out? (https://estadiolimpic.barcelona/en/coldplay-28-05-2023) As you pointed out yourself, it would not be the first time Pollstar makes a mistake. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 15:33, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Venues/promoters also sometimes withhold tickets until the last minute and then make them available for sale 24-48 hrs before the date. This will inevitably change the reported capacity once all tickets are available for sale. Additionally, the listed capacity will often change to reflect promoters/venues pulling back certain tickets at the last minute that were previously for sale so they can artificially report the show sold out. The best course of action is go with the most recently published box score data. Y2Kcrazyjoker4 (talkcontributions) 15:53, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
As shown in the screenshot I sent earlier, the tour history says the concerts were sold out as of today. And they always update the tour history with the latest information even after purchase. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 16:11, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
