The article states that the galaxy "was discovered by John Frederick William Herschel on 15 March 1787.[4]" However, John Herschel was born in 1792. Moreover, reference [4] is to the scientific papers of his father, Sir William Herschel. Both these circumstances suggest that William Herschel is the discoverer. Indeed, pages 23 and 26 the book "Observing and Cataloguing Nebulae and Star Clusters: From Herschel to Dreyer's New General Catalogue", Cambridge University Press, 2010, indicates that NGC 5253 was discovered by William Herschel on 15 March 1787.
