Changing the List

I once again removed two schools form the list of lay organizations. The only citations were to their own websites. Also, neither one is "Major school or organization". Please do not revert without first discussing on the Talk Page. Thank you. --Daveler16 (talk) 15:30, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Globalization of Nichiren Buddhism

I've pretty much finished drafting the section (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:BrandenburgG/sandbox). I would appreciate any feedback.

I would like to go into greater depth but academic research is limited on some Nichiren sects outside of Japan. BrandenburgG (talk) 11:40, 9 April 2018 (UTC) BrandenburgG (talk) 11:40, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

I appreciate that you're trying to be "balanced", but that doesn't always lead to accuracy. I think the role of the Soka Gakkai in the globalization of Nichiren ought to lead off, as it is by far the most zealous in its activities, or at least the most successful - in terms of both size and influence. I also appreciate the difficulty in finding academic sources for many of the Nichiren sects -- but, then, that may be a direct corollary to the SG's central position. --Daveler16 (talk) 13:12, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your comment. I am going to post the section now. I tried to follow some order of chronology in listing the groups, according to when they took steps outside of Japan. Even though I am posting I still hope to get feedback and I've also encountered some new sources which I am going to add. I hope other editors feel free to contribute to this section.BrandenburgG (talk) 10:58, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Added a kind of "lede" explanatory paragraph.--Daveler16 (talk) 03:50, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

Basic Teachings

Moved Basic Teachings to the front, as I think now that would be the first thing most readers would be looking for. Let's discuss.--Daveler16 (talk) 13:11, 26 April 2018 (UTC)

Socialism

The entire "Socialism" subsection is un-sourced, and there were a number of misleading statements contained therein. Statements corrected; still no sources.--Daveler16 (talk) 05:08, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

@Daveler16, the socialism subsection is sourced in the Habito article. Recent scholarship on the term "Nichirenism" goes beyond the militant movement which had appropriated the term before and during the war. Modern scholars are using the term to describe socialist Nichiren advocates as well as lay religious movements independent or only loosely affiliated with established sects.BrandenburgG (talk) 12:01, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

The staement to which I referred, in the last paragraph, had (and still have) no reference; they were juat unsourced allegations about Tsunesaburo Makiguchi.--Daveler16 (talk) 17:42, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

Worldwide propagation

Added a paragraph about this to the lede.--Daveler16 (talk) 04:32, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
