Saraneth

[edit]

I was under the impression that Saraneth, too, gave itself wholly to the Charter. There were nine Bright Shiners, two of whom did not submit to the charter (Yrael and Orannis). This leaves seven, two of which did not follow through. These two are clearly Kibeth and Astarael. There are five Great Charters: Ranna, Mosrael, Dyrim, Belgaer, and lastly, Saraneth. Correct me if I'm wrong? Moonstone 05:18, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Garth Nix left the issue unclear. I always assumed the whole thing was numerical; One through Five being completely disolved into the Charter (but leaving behind parts of themselves in a "roundabout, hand-me-down sort of way"), and Six and Seven only putting some of themselves into the Charter, but I seem to be in the minority. 12.17.189.77 02:50, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's right: there are avatars of some of the Shiners in the books, the most notable being the Disreputable Dog, or Kibeth. Nihiltres 00:02, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bells vs. Shiners?

[edit]

I have been going through and fixing links which are relevant to the Shiners' names as they appear as Necromancer bells. The links to the articles on the individual Shiners link to the Necromancer bells page. This will have to be resolved, as one would not wish to exclude either subject. Since there is so little information on the Shiners themselves, please add information on the individual Shiners on the Necromancer bells page for now. Nihiltres 00:02, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nine Bright Shiners

[edit]

64.24.4.124 19:57, 13 August 2007 (UTC) okay, i know two of the seven shiners didnt put all of themselves in the charter (Astarael and Kibeth), but i just read that all seven of the charter might have left some of themselves behind. i know that kibeth and astarael didnt put all of themselves into the charter, just part of themselves, because the disreputable dog is kibeth, and lireal, sam, mogget, and dog encountered a form of astarael in the tunnle leading from the old well by abhorsen's house. if they did put all of themselves in, the dog and 'ghost' of astarael would not exsist, right? if the rest of the seven did leave some of themselves behind(besides the crown, clayr, abhorsen's, wall, and stones), where are they? if u dont know, thats ok. i was just wondering.64.24.4.124 19:57, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
