Conflict of interest

[edit]

User:Scifi20 has posted, "I was a councilor at DeVry Calgary and I acted as a mentor to the Khaled brothers throughout the making of their project. I have no relation or connection to their company." This qualifies as a clear-cut conflict of interest. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:10, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that a COI could exist as I personally knew the brothers. However, I did not assist in creating the project, I assisted only by providing mentorship and guidance to ALL project teams in the institution and not only to the Khaleds. I did not and do not benefit out of their project or out of writing about it in any way whatsoever. This page was not created for any kind of interest, benefit or promotion either. I started the topic simply because I thought it held a great deal of significance to be included in Wikipedia. I personally re-read the article many times and tried to remove any bias that I can find. I am against biased articles myself, therefore my intention is to always write articles in a neutral point of view. Scifi20 (talk) 17:59, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OrangeMike: You seem to take some interest in this webpage so you may also find the views of robotics researchers enlightening. In my opinion Nova 5 makes extravagant claims that are completely unsubstantiated. The only references are to newspaper articles where the writer, with a non scientific background, is simply repeating the developer's claims. In my opinion this entry doesn't contain credible scientific claims and is no more than an advertisement for dubious claims. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.43.95.254 (talk) 20:43, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
