Thanks for creating this article. I used to walk by here all the time and didn't realize it was formerly a fraternity house. I don't doubt the information in the article is true, but it really should be backed up with citations to reliable sources. If the info is based on personal knowledge, unfortunately that is considered original research. I looked on the Internet and didn't find any history of the building. Is it contained in a print source or even just the NRHP nomination? Katr67 (talk) 15:46, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

P.S. The Oregon NRHP page says the building dates to 1907, so is it 1906 or 1907? Katr67 (talk) 15:49, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the note. Nice to know that someone actually looked at my first Wiki page. Most of the information is from the NRHP nomination. I have a copy, as well as copies of some of the supporting documentation and some wonderful old photos of the Betas and their house, but none of it seems to be available online. I thought is was "verifiable" because anyone can contact NRHP or go to the Lane County Historical society and dig it all up again, but I don't know how to make it more online-verifiable. We've also been told the name of the architect, who has at least one other historic building still standing in Eugene, but I left that out because I really couldn't think of a way to verify that. I've also talked to an elderly gentleman who lived nearby, but although I found his memories fascinating, I think they would not be appropriate. I was trying to stick to things that could actually be checked.

As to the date discrepancy, it sounds like construction was begun in '06 and completed in '07.

This is all new to me, so I guess I'll just check the discussion tab of the Beta House site now and then to see if you have repied. Thank you! Rlksmith (talk) 21:52, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
