I received a message about the new article "Omni-ID, Ltd." but I don't understand what the problem is. I believe I created the article in accordance with all relevant Wikipedia guidelines. The subject is notable, all statements are referenced and purely factual in nature. Here is what the message says:

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.

Please review WP:SPAM guidelines. Continually adding links to your commercial website is considered spam. Thanks. Calltech 14:29, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

I would like to better understand what "inappropriate external links" are in the article. It is about a corporation. There is a link to the corporation's website. I see many Wikipedia pages about corporations that do the same thing. Please explain. Thank you. Rosemary Brisco, ToTheWeb (talk) 23:35, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
