under-sourced article(s)

[edit]

Is there some compelling reason that Wikipedia needs to comprehensively re-create Pentax's product catalogue?
I was going to AfD this article because it has no independent, relibale sources, but if I did, it would strange not to nominate all the other article on Pentax lenses that are equally under-sourced. That, in turn appears to me to place an undue burden on the participants at AfD.
Perhaps someone can enlighten me as to why we have this set of articles, and templates like Template:Pentax K-mount AF lenses timeline. --Vexations (talk) 17:03, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I do believe the importance/relevance should be priority. Recent lenses which are superior are of greater interest. There are also 59 more articles about lenses from Canon inside Category:Canon_lenses, even older lenses without AF. So why should different brands have less/more lens articles?
You're right with the sources, they can/should be enhanced.
Regarding the templates, it's the same layout like with cameras. For Canon there're even six different timelines Category:Lens_templates, so other brands can have the same. --Angerdan (talk) 09:58, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
