Any idea what the mean is?
Okay - we have the numbers for the median - but I'm curious, what's the mean income, and why is the median emphasized over the mean? —CobraA1 17:45, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- The mean is highly susceptible to outliers whereas the median is more robust. Due to the nature of the distribution of wealth in the US, the Median generally a better metric of the average-person-salary than the mean. People like Bill Gates heavily skew the data.Onhech (talk) 17:49, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
Average income?
Why isn't the average income listed anywhere on the page? 68.238.166.26 (talk) 16:37, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

"By educational attainment" Data Not Found....
I have searched the source document referenced for the "By educational attainment" section (US Census Bureau, 2006; income statistics for the year 2005) and found no reference to education in relation to income.I think this should be updated or removed (unless I'm missing something).Onhech (talk) 18:00, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
