Images[edit]

I'm not happy with the cluttered appearance of the images in this article, but the images help to show specific items noted in the text. Any suggestions? Majorjc 04:47, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quint vs Platform[edit]

Majorjc, a lot of what you described about this unit is apparently specific to your unit in general. We operate a platform which has no pump and no attack lines. Quint has an article elswhere. Please keep all talk of quints within that article. Also, I cleaned up the article some. I may go back and add gallery which will help clean it up but I am too busy to do that now. --Daysleeper47 12:43, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move to other name[edit]

I am intending to ask for this article to be moved to 'Platform truck'. Reasons:

  • Aerial platform is a much more generic term, which I want to disambiguate to point to the existing article Aerial work platform. Said article will then (under 'truck-mounted' lead back to this article at its Platform truck position. MadMaxDog 09:33, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move back to original name[edit]

This article needs to be moved back to it's original name. You did not check existing links to this article before moving it. And in the fire service Aerial Apparatus texts it is classified and an aerial platform.

No offense, but this article does not even call itself 'aerial platform' once in the article. I think that changing 'aerial platform' into the disambig state it is in now is a good compromise. See also arguments for it in the talk section above.
Maybe you would like to change the existing links to there to point to this article - I apologize for not having done this (sloppy work on my part), and will hold off on doing it myself for the moment, until we get some sort of agreement. Regards MadMaxDog 09:32, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Booms[edit]

Is anyone preparing an article for articulating or telescopic booms? Should aerial platforms based on telescopic booms transferred from Fire Apparatus to a new article on articulating booms, or is this page suitable? The booms typically have a platform and ladders... Sorry, I do not have nowadays time to join the actual project on firefighting articles... :-( However, if someone wants to, I can easily find pictures and some information on old snorkels and pictures, too. Has there been any discussion on to which articles should various kind of units belong? Pöllö 07:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
