Uhh... whose physiology notes? Those of the kid sleeping in the back? What class? What university? What professor? I'm removing these "notes" as a reference. I don't think it would be appropriate even if all the above questions could be answered.

I went ahead and merged this article with the portal venous system. I didn't go through the normal post-and-wait routine because there are tons of near identical articles about the same topic.
