Any of the three Native American?
[edit]In The United States Marine Corps in World War II, edited by S.E. Smith, one of the passages written by Robert Leckie states that the gunner was an "Indian" who was killed in the engagement, and the assistant received a Navy Cross and had a movie made about him, but "the poor Indian got nothing." p.219. He also describes the deceased as "the flat-faced, anonymous prize fighter from Pittsburgh." which may mean that either the author misremembered who was who on that machinegun, coincidentally there were two guys from Pittsburgh on that gun, or Hollywood took some liberties with the story.141.156.187.235 (talk) 16:45, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
