What's the meaning of "shooting a tank gun" in anger?

[edit]

The article cites a source about "the first time that a Leopard 2 fired its 120 mm smoothbore gun in anger." What is the meaning of shooting "in anger" in this context? Is this some kind of military jargon? Plex (talk) 14:42, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

no Leopard was shooting in this accident, thought on the radio came an order from above "if there's anybody moving then 'BMK feuer frei [BMK=Bordmaschinenkanone]." I know what I'm saying, as a german soldier I participated in this accident and had the radio on as it was escalating. On the evening that day we were told, we shot over 300 bullets, but many articels I read tell it was about 250. The car of the serbs wasn't a Zastava, it was a Polski Fiat 125p - you can recognize it easy on movies and pictures found in the internet. 45.11.60.81 (talk) 23:09, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
