Manual cleanup

I did a fix of the article, mainly to issues caused by an edit by 72.252.149.34. The edit seemed well-meaning, trimming down the filmmaking session and re-organizing some content, but ultimately it was botched, leaving some garbled and meaningless sentences and deleting some relevant content. I tried to restore meaning to the damaged content and tried to keep the trim-down of film examples, while trimming down some other non-encyclopedic content. Take a look at what I have done; I'm particularly dubious of the material in the business development section (which I copied from an earlier edit) if anyone wants to take a hack at trimming that down or making it more meaningful. - Sangrolu (talk) 17:50, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Proof Of Concept

As the encyclopedia mentions POC is a incomplete or short way of realizing the feasibility of an idea.

In the field of software ,for the Production environment the POC is developed after the project comes to a particular company. Further, the company discusses what method should it follow for the solution. This is acheived by a lab set up where the research is done. This helps in building the POC.

Added to page. Also "merge tag" removed from article as it seems to have its own viable content which is not necessarily about prototyping. FT2 (Talk | email) 10:05, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

In mathematics

I'd like to see some reference for the fact that "proof of concept" is used as described in the "In mathematics" section. That does not match with my experience (what's described there is usually refered to as a sketch of a proof). -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 09:08, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps thats worth noting. The fact that the same basic concept is known by a different name?. I'll add that, feel free to edit if I'm mistaken. FT2 (Talk | email) 10:14, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

The comment about PoC vs. Proof of Technology in Computer Science is not generally accepted. That's like saying in mathematics it should be called a Proof of Equation.

Proof of Concept is the teminology used widely in software. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.164.249.45 (talk) 09:48, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

The Internet Power-Hub

The Internet Power-Hub section is back. It may or may not be WP:SPAM (but considering the direct link, I'm inclined to think it is). Whatever the case, the Proof of Concept they use is a trade name for a product, not what is covered by this article.

If the company or product is noteable, you should make a sourced article discussing it. Then feel free to put a link to it here. But for now I am removing the section again. - Sangrolu (talk) 11:53, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
