This entire article should be replaced by another one with another name, because the expression "public contest" does not carry the same meaning of the expression "concurso público" in Portuguese.

The correct translation should be "public-entrance examination", or simply "public examination".

A contest is a competition in which the winner gets a prize. The procedure to select public officials is rather an examination than a contest, for there are specific criteria for admission, and one is only approved by meeting this requirements. There are no competitors os contestants, but applicants. There are no winners and losers, bot approved and non-approved applicants.

Agreed. I believe that is a good idea to merge it with Civil Service examination
