Citation for Ranseur and Roncone being equivalent?

[edit]

As far as I've been able to find, a roncone is an Italian Bill, I haven't found anything that indicates a roncone is related to a ranseur. Taxonomy for polearms is notoriously difficult so can we get a citation to keep track of the terms we're using or else remove the reference to roncone? Infantry or cavalry too?

[edit]

Worldbuilding related minor question... Was the ranseur only infantry, or could it be used on horse, like a spear, to charge and all? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.163.21.122 (talk) 22:07, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Almost certainly infantry only. Theblindsage (talk) 09:05, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One of these things is not like the other...

[edit]

The rightmost 'ranseur' in the pic is very clearly a different weapon. Theblindsage (talk) 09:05, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Handy guide to knowing your pole-arm!
