Same as RAIR and RAER ?
[edit]It was my understanding that RAIR in response to rectal distension triggered relaxation of internal sphincter, alowing a small amount of rectal contents to enter the anal canal, thereby sampling its nature (gas/solid/liquid). RAER then leads to contraction of external sphincter to prevent incontinence.
