Reasons for fighting Sirius

At the end of the game, Regulus reveals that the four of them (Artemis, Altair, Orion, and himself) were barely able to take the Omni Cube from Sirius. Regulus also destroys the Omni Cube, probably allowing a safe assumption that he simply wanted to make sure the Omni Cube could not have been used by Sirius as opposed to vengeance.
